As per the new move, the tax levied per square meter on houses in gram panchayaths has been increased from the existing Rs 3-8 to Rs 6-10. In municipalities, the house tax was reduced from Rs 6-15 per square foot to Rs 8-17. Meanwhile, in corporations, the rate has been increased from Rs 8-20 to Rs 10-22.
